Feature Film Adaptation of “Nimona” Receives New Life from Netflix and Annapurna
Originally canceled with the shutter of Disney-owned studio Blue Sky, Nimona creator ND Stevenson announced the graphic novel’s adaptation will land on Netflix in 2023.

Nyallywood comes to cinemas on April 27-29, GKIDS announced with a referential teaser. The film, which previewed in the United States in 2021 in New York City and Los Angeles as part of festivals, delivers a tight story of how movies are made, at least when producer Pompo takes the lead!
DreamWorks Animation HBCU Fellowship Applications Open Until March 1
DreamWorks becomes the latest studio to team with Historically Black Colleges and Universities to bring talented students further animation training and careers. This fellowship offers 15 paid positions to current HBCU students or recent graduates in May and June 2022.
HBCUs, a distinction granted by the Higher Education Act of 1965, are accredited institutions established before 1964 for education of African Americans, which now prepare all students, regardless of race, for the workforce. You can find a list of HBCUs here.
In 2021, stop motion studio LAIKA announced its partnership with HBCU Bowie State in Maryland to further develop the school’s animation program and provide the Oregon-based company with East Coast connections.
